Our Christmas

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Happy New Year!!
Calixto and I put together Catherine's kitchen until 1 am!
These are the fleece blankets I made. I made 8 of them all together.
Chessie enjoying her limited time indoors!! Yes, Calixto did get new socks for Christmas!!

Isn't this a cute doll? Calixto thinks it is ugly, it reminds him of a marionette.

Ho Ho Ho from us too

We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas, We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Ho Ho Ho

HO HO HO!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

so true

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world belowWith tiny lights, like Heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow .The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tearFor I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dearBut the sounds of music can't comparewith the Christmas choir up here.I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.I know how much you miss me,I see the pain inside your heart. But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear. And be glad I'm spending Christmaswith Jesus Christ this year.I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.I sent you each a memory of my undying love. After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.It was always most important in the stories Jesus told. Please love and keep each other, as my Father said to do.For I can't count the blessingor love he has for each of you.So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.Remember, I am spending Christmaswith Jesus Christ this year.

This is Elizabeth and Cody all ready for the formal they had for school....they clean up pretty well huh>

We have a new addition to our family

This is our new addition to the family! Her name is Chessie, she is a yellow lab.
I had to give her a bath to get rid of all her fleas! She did a great job and didn't fuss any!
I can't believe Calixto finally gave in and got us a pet. He has been very anti-pet! He secretly bought her a few weeks ago and picked her up today. He surprised the kids and then surprised me with her. She is so sweet right now...I hope she stays that way! I know we have a lot of work ahead of us...but, what fun!!!

update on Tracy

Tracy is coming out of the hospital today. She is doing relatively well although she is in a lot of pain. I spoke with her on the phone last night, she sounded good but she was slurring her words by the end of the conversation. We understand it is a long recovery time so pray for endurance for her.
Mr. Frick's surgery went well and he should be home on Fri. He is quite the character and has a very positive and humorous outlook on his condition.

Surgery

Just to let everyone know, Tracy is having surgery this morning at University of Penn. She will be in the hospital for a few days afterward. I'll post again after surgery to let you know how it went.
Also, Mr Frick who lives next to Roni is having brain surgery today at the same hospital. Our families are having a good time waiting with each other in the waiting room. Mr Frick was diagnosed with lung cancer before Bruce was diagnosed. Bruce was able to lead him to Christ at that point! He was declared cancer free for several months but the cancer has since returned to an area in his brain.

Thanks for your prayers

A bit of what we've been up to

We spent Thanksgiving weekend in Dallas. Christopher is reading to "Lala", Calixto's grandmother. She is just 6 mos younger than Mimi. Her mother lived until 100!
Dec 1st, it was a nice chilly night to go to the Christmas parade. I find it is difficult to get a hat over Catherine's hair!! Maybe ear muffs would be a better idea!Dec 2nd...and yes, another watermelon. This was the last official one of our so called patch, it even survived a few frosty nights!

Trying to get photos by the tree...how frustrating of a task that was!! You can see some of my cross stitch ornaments in the background. The cross stitch was easy but sewing a 4" straight line on the sewing machine was quite horrendous...Isn't that pitiful!
Our tree (sorry the quality of the pic is not so good) I decided to do a red and white tree this year. The "Lowe's" tree is getting a bit dry...not drinking much water...but I think it will make it through Christmas this year!
