Catherine is 4!!

Happy Birthday to Catherine! She was so excited about turning 4. We went to Chuck E Cheese where she got this crown. It didn't quite fit on top of her hair but looked so cute with her hair sticking out of it. She will have a big birthday bash on Saturday with lots of friends...the guest list has gotten a bit large! Today we just celebrated as a family. She fell asleep within minutes, she was so worn out from the days activities. We are so blessed by Catherine and thank the Lord for entrusting us with her!!

Our pretty ballerina

Catherine had her first Dance class today. She was so excited! Her class consists of tap, ballet and tumbling. She had a great time and the class even sang Happy Birthday to her at the end class time. She looked so precious in her outfit, I just had to share! (the pink is for you Tracy!)

Our new baby

This is our new baby. It is only like 4 months old. I still have to hand feed it once a day. It is already very sweet and loves to be held and gives kisses. I don't have a name for it yet. It is impossible to know whether it is a girl or boy so we will just have to pick a name.

The First Day of School!

August 16th and it is back to school. For all of you in the Northern states, I know you aren't even thinking "back to school" yet! Christopher is in 3rd grade this year and has a wonderful teacher! As part of the Classical Christian education he will be taking Latin this year. I am excited about that. Of course, he wasn't too happy about going to school this morning when he got up but, his attitude quickly changed and he was all smiles when he left. He chose to drive with our "carpool" neighbor so he could be with their son Andrew, who is new to the school this year.
Last night he told us..."I'll always remember you..." as if he were going away to boarding school! I reminded him he only had a half day and I would see him at noon!! He's too funny.

Look where I went!

Ok all you Thompson's, I am trying to make you jealous. I went to cabela's today. We spent like 2 and a half hours here. This is a really neat store. There are more dead animals here than I have probably seen in my life. There were hundreds of deal, elk, bears and anything wild. Even a little chipmunk. There is a beaver pond complete with fish and moose. I will send more picture if I can figure out how to get them off of my phone.

Beautiful Weather

It was so beautiful today that we got up and decided to go to the Philadelphia Zoo. The traffic was horrible on the way there but once there it was beautiful. In the low 80's with very low humidity. Cheyenne had a blast and learned some new animal sounds. She was so excited. We had a very good day. Got none of our Saturday stuff done but it was one of those days. Here are a few pictures of the kids.

Pop-pops Heroism

http://www.plumsystems.com/db/chf/plum_press.asp?id=37243
Ok, I think I did this correctly. The link above is the link for the Carnegie Hero Fund Commission. I did a search for Pop-pop since he was awarded the Carnegie medal of Honor for his bravery and heroism in rescuing several people from his burning boat. This is what they have listed for him. It was very interesting and I was very proud of Pop-pop! Obviously God gave him the strength to accomplish what he bravely did that night. I knew this story, as I have a copy of the article in the Atlantic City Press, but it was neat to read the lengths to which he went to save those people. What a hero!

I am in soooo much trouble!!!

This first picture is what happens when Cheyenne is still for 2 minutes during her nap time. This is on the floor just inside her room by the gate. Of course this is at 3:45 when she is suppose to get up at 4. So I wonder what she was doing from 1:30 til 3:45?

Ok so now we know what she was doing! Does anyone have a idea to keep a not quite 2 year old in her bed so she will go to sleep? The NO NO Spoon is not working. Bed time at night is horrible. She was up until 11 last night. And she had many many spanking but still just pops out of bed when I leave or even when I lay on Wades bed. AAAAAhhhhh. This child is God sense of humor in action. I told you she was my uncle Earl.

The breakfast of champions?!

Catherine decided to make breakfast for her and Christopher the other morning. She got out the plates and the paper towels. She arranged his plate with a go-gurt, go-tart and two tootsie rolls. Her plate included apple sauce, go-gurt, a cheese stick and wheat thins! She was so proud of herself and Christopher was very appreciative of the effort, although he traded in a candy for some wheat thins.
a rare morning when both are smiling at the breakfast table!
Christopher was being disciplined last night and had to stay on his bed all evening after dinner. Consequently his bed time was a bit earlier. This morning he got up before I did and brought me breakfast in bed...cereal and fruit! He was so sweet. Catherine threw a little fit and put a dent in his pleasant morning, he quickly got over that after a few shed tears and fixed her b'fast complete with cereal and 2 chocolate chip cookies! How joyful and sweet they both can be!

I really can see!

Well I went back to the Eye dr and I can really see. I went from only reading the top E on the eye chart to one day after lasik I could read one line from the bottom. That is 20/24. I am amazed. I have a slight haze left but they said that would go away as my cornea heals. I will most likely be 20/20 or even better when all is healed. Right now I can see better than I could with my glasses all but for a slight haze. I have slight redness and they are slightly dry but I can use all the eye drops I want. I am really happy so far with the results.

I Can almost see!!!

Hey,
I finally did it. I went and had Lasik surgery yesterday. I can see much better today. Yesterday my eyes were all gritty and itchy and foggy. Today they are still a little foggy but i can see well enough to drive. Yay I can wear my sunglasses. I can't wait until my eyes clear up and I can see perfectly. I keep reaching for my glasses though and I keep trying to push them up my nose. Well I though I Would share an improvement in me.
