The First Day of School!

August 16th and it is back to school. For all of you in the Northern states, I know you aren't even thinking "back to school" yet! Christopher is in 3rd grade this year and has a wonderful teacher! As part of the Classical Christian education he will be taking Latin this year. I am excited about that. Of course, he wasn't too happy about going to school this morning when he got up but, his attitude quickly changed and he was all smiles when he left. He chose to drive with our "carpool" neighbor so he could be with their son Andrew, who is new to the school this year.
Last night he told us..."I'll always remember you..." as if he were going away to boarding school! I reminded him he only had a half day and I would see him at noon!! He's too funny.

Hope you had a great day Christopher. Our kids start school next Tuesday. They thought they would be the first to start. Latin will be lots of fun. You can learn new words that your Mom won't know. We don't have a 3rd grader this year. Mattie is in 2nd and Jesse is in 4th.

Hey Christopher,

You look good in your picture and like you were really going to have a great day; your first day in the third grade. The third grade was special to me when I attended it many years ago (1950) to be exact. That's when I got my very first pair of glasses. Man, they were weird! Anyway, when my mother brought me back to school since my appointment was during class time, I had to walk into my class room with these weird looking, totaly round, wire rimed THICK REAL GLASS glasses. One kids said: "Hey, Earl looks like a frong looking through the ice." That's all it took, and I was sacred for life!(ha,ha). Hope your first day in the third grade was a better experience.

John-John tells tracy "i'm going to miss you so much ..i miss you when i'm in school I miss you i miss you" EVERY MORNING before tracy leaves for work. I don't know if he really misses mommy or is trying to give her a guilt trip because she is working HAHA
But you are in 3rd grade so you are a old hand at going to school now and with Andrew with you it should be great this year. Just don't ask me to help you with homework HAHA
love ya

Christopher had a great first and second day. He was very excited to go to school this morning. No more dragging him kicking and screaming! Thank the Lord for that! I feel like kicking and screaming in the pick up line at the end of the day...but I have controlled myself...so far! The line doesn't always move as quickly as I would hope.
