Hi everyone,
We just got back from Minneapolis yesterday. We went to Desiring God's (John Piper's) annual conference, this year the title was "Suffering and the Sovereignty of God"! It was so good! And so timely!
We heard from 7 speakers including Nate Saint's son Steve. Listening to him just fans the flames for missions in both of our hearts. (Robbie if your reading this, maybe we should talk!!) Anyway, we so enjoyed our time of just being poured into. Oh how we need constant reminders of who we are in Christ and what our purpose is on this side of heaven. Suffering plays such a big role in our lives and our spiritual maturity. John Piper said "We can not look at Jesus on the cross and think we will be spared suffering." God is good and he uses our sufferings for our good and for his glory.
If you think of us please pray for us as we feel we are at a definite crossroads in our ministry here at Crossroads (the name of our church). We desire to be obedient to Christ's calling whether it is to stay here or go elsewhere. If we were to leave we don't know where that elsewhere would be at this point.
The kids are both great and happy that we are home. I don't know exactly they did this weekend with the families they stayed with but they sure slept late this morning!

"Savor the riches of Christ, spend yourself whatever the cost and spread those riches to a dying world."

Wow, Brenda! That sounds like a wonderful conference. I just love those meaningful times of growth in Christ. We will pray for you as you consider how best to serve the Lord. Praise God that your willingness is already there!!! He will guide you to where He wants to use you!

Brenda... sounds like a really exciting conference, I love to hear Steve Saint speak. He really sums it up without all the frill. He is a great speaker to MK's as well. I will pray for direction in your lives as you stand at this crossroad at Crossroads")
Did you know Steve Saint spoke at Roni Bowers funeral (Missionary shot down in air plane)? He was quite touching as he spoke directly to the Bowers adopted son.

Brenda,

You have been in our thoughts and prayers since we saw you. We will continue to pray that God will make your path very clear. It is amazing that getting away to a conference is so refreshing and challenging at the same time. We always treasure the time away at conference where we can focus solely on Christ and not the many cares of the world. --Steph

We will continue to remember you in prayer as we pray often for God's direction in all of our nieces and nephew's lives. So glad you had the opportunity to be "refreshed" at the conference!

Wow, If you want to be a missionary to the Northeast let me know.

Boy that conference sounds great. Too bad it was so Calvinistic (artical above) For me, God is sovereign and has a plan including for me. He knew me before I was born(form all eternity) and is working our His plan in my life. What a joy and confort!!!
Love ya, Uncle Lee
